Sam Hull says some IP ranges have been blocked by the forum hosts to prevent hacking.

It seems they are blocking the rest of the world ... ;)

The situation is a disaster.
In the moment the whole forum is down because of Christmas shopping.

They should better rename it in anemic chess forum for 4 of 10 lucky readers.

What disaster ? Has anyone died of talkchess withdrawal syndrome ?

Talkchess is full of garbage now, and Open-Chess is a fine replacement. Technically superior, and with fewer active members, which results in a higher signal/noise ratio.
