The Obsidian 12.0 chess engine achieved a very good result in the tournament. Once again, the good result of the Alexandria 6.1.0 engine draws attention. I wonder how much progress the next version of this engine will have.
Third place Caissa 1.18 engine.

This tournament is useful for owners of older computers. The winner was the Obsidian 12.0 chess engine, which is playing stronger and stronger and who knows, maybe it will reach the level of Stockfish.

The Caissa 1.18 engine achieved an excellent result. The first three places in the tournament were taken by chess engines, which are "chasing" Stockfish. Will this chase succeed?
For now, Stockfish is playing about 80-100 rating points better. But two years ago this advantage was much greater.

Both Kookaburra 2.00 and Stockfish 16.1 engines scored the same number of points. Alexander 1.1 is the only chess engine in this lineup without nnue in last place, but won one game!

To make it easier to monitor the progress of new versions of the Stockfish engine, we are introducing a new way of examining them. The new engine will be checked by official versions of Stockfish starting from version 12.
The first one was Stockfish 24041120.

There was a crash in the game Raid 3.6 TR - Stockfish 20240330 Ivec (0-1). And this result meant that the Stockfish 20240330 Ivec engine won the tournament.
Middle-class engines: Alexandria-6.1.0, Caissa 1.18, Rebel-16.3 and Uralochka 3.41.dev4 are still far behind.

OBSIDIAN 12.0 WINS NEW AMATEUR ENGINES TEST, BY CHESS ENGINES DIARY 13-16.04.2024
https://chessengines.blogspot.com/2024/ ... gines.html

Obsidian 12.0 won the tournament with a large advantage, this engine is clearly superior to the so-called middle class. The new version of the Arasan 24.2 engine performed poorly. Perhaps the introduced amendment (version 24.2.1) will eliminate the errors.
Alexander 1.1 and Saturn 1.3 new engines in our tests started from the initial ranking of 2400 - hence the large increases in the CEDR ranking.

HYPNOS 030424 WINS BANKSIA NEW ENGINES TOURNAMENT, BY CEDR 15.04.2024
https://chessengines.blogspot.com/2024/ ... gines.html

The large test tournament was won by HypnoS 030424, a new product created by Marco Zerbinati. The poor result of the Arasan 24.2 engine is the result of many errors - this can be seen in the Tech Table (27 fails).
It should also be noted that the new Berserk 13 overtook such "derivatives" of Stockfish as Cool Iris 12.10 and Crystal 8.

https://chessengines.blogspot.com/2024/ ... gines.html

Important moment! In a large (over 1,100 games) tournament among middle class engines, Obsidian 12.0 won and overtook the Berserk 13 engine.
The Caissa 1.18 engine was placed at the lowest level.
Commercial Ethereal 14.25 in 4th place and fritz 19 in penultimate place!
