I have looked at the TCEC Rules, especially the paragraph "Critical engine bugs".
Nowhere can I find a specific rule that says that an engine automatically forfeits a live game, if it has a crash or interface communication problem (although I do appreciate that it might lose on time if there is no manual restart from the position reached at the crash point).
Please would you explain the Hannibal loss and consider clarifying the rules document.

Re: Crashes: Game forfeiture - Hannibal
The GUI automatically assigns the result when an engines crashes, it is not something done by TCEC & hence not required to be specifically mentioned in the rules.
