It has nothing to do with Cubail's courage or if Eman is persecuted or not because when Cubail shares the private work of others, Cubail suffers no consequences. Cubail only shared Eman because Cubail still thinks Eman is the weakest of SF clones, that's all ! Evidence ? Look at Cubail's oriented tests and at what precise moment of his tests Cubail publishs his ranking.

Eman is no better than the other engines. Here is a live image from PlayChess at this moment. I'm playing with a new version of Little Beast SE and a laptop with only 1400 kns. Nobody is currently slower. Still, I haven't lost a game in several hours and most Emans are below me! :-)
(Smile X4Pro is one of my private engine, runs currently on a Laptop by Detlef Uter)

My live configuration on PlayChess:

My CPU uses only 5.7 watts and temperature 46C (which is less than anything I know of) at 1340 kns.

Probably not the right place to ask this, but in PlayChess engine room via ChessBase 17, I cannot see the playing mode button. How do I play as a computer? I have asked ChessBase support but no response after 2 weeks :(

Khalid was forced to stop releasing Eman because what he was doing was illegal, it is compulsory to follow GPLv3 rules!

I dont know why people dont understand this, it is very simple. I love Eman and its learning feature, but I do think that what Stockfish team did is completely legit, they are just defending their rights.

Lot of people contribute a lot of CPU hours, time, effort and even money to improve Stockfish, and you cant just use its source code for your derivative and not share your changes, apart from being completely unfair, it is against the Stockfish license, thats all.

I hope everyone can understand.

Regards,

Ibai

With ChessBase 17 (and also with ChessBase 16) you cannot play with engines. In the Engine Room you can play computer games as a human, but not ENG vs ENG. You have to buy a game program from ChessBase. Fritz 15, Fritz 16, 17, 18, Powerfritz 18, Fat Fritz 2 or Komodo Chess --> only ChessBase versions.

Since Eman source code is not available to us, it cannot be compiled for Linux by any of us.
