It's the same as in Gull 1.2 which works just fine. I can't imagine what can cause the slowdown: with one thread Gull utilizes 25% CPU (4 cores total) as it should, however NPS is too low.

It appears there's no problem with the latest development version of Gull... :)

Gull 2.1: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gullchess/?source=dlp
Mirror: http://www.spaadyshare.com/WA3FMODAL7DS/Gull_2.1.zip

Evaluation weights are optimized with the use of automated tuning (source code included).
Gull's evaluation is no longer almost identical to that of Ivanhoe.
Minor search & time management & SMP efficiency enhancements.
ChessGUI incompatibility bug seems to be fixed.

15-25 ELO gain at ultra-short time controls.

Thanks for this.
Gull is one of the most interesting new chess engines.

I recompiled the 32-bit version so it doesn't require any additional DLLs now (http://www.chess2u.com/t1238p30-gull#43786). Gull 2.1.zip file on sourceforge is updated.

Hi ThinkingALot:

On my machine does not work correctly, (win 7, AMD Phenom)
on Fritz, if work,
but processes remain open after removing the engine.
It causes paralysis of the machine.

Greetings.

Edit:
ThinKingALot You keep doing a great job, many ideas, all interesting.

Can't reproduce this bug on my machine. What about x64 version?

Hi,

A strange thing that I had never observed with other engine. This is one process per core used. Is this Ok?
