Hi Swaminathan!

Sorry for abusing your thread about this interesting engine, but I just wanted to ask you since some time, is there any tool like the great one from Philippe Gailhac for Arena GUI to be used for Shredder in sight? Could you ask Philippe maybe? STS Stat surely would make the otherwise manual counting of the special points, which is a little time consuming, a pure pleasure but I'm not so used to use Arena, as a matter of fact I didn't use Arena hardly at all till now. Of course I could learn to, but getting older an older...
:)
Thanks again for your great suite and thanks in advance.
regards
Peter.

Hi Peter,

Cool, I will ask Philippe to see if he can fulfill your request. I'm sending him email to explain the situation.

Best Regards,
Swami

That would be very kind of you, Swami! Fritz- GUI was o.k. for me too, if there were even more users asking for that, maybe. The problem with Fritz and STS different to Shredder and Arena for me was, Fritz doesn't work with .epd as well, you have to export to .cbh or .pgn first, as far as I know.
Thank you very much again, best
regards
Peter.

Yes, I once tried running Pgn's in Fritz, I thought it was really very basic. There were no detailed statistics, for instance you couldn't see the total scores out of 10,000 of all epds.

You could also try ChessGUI or Grad test tool. Both are statistically excellent.
