You mentioned to very good and key points. But I want to add something I think it’s very important and should be considered from everyone: when we talk about stockfish we are talking about a big team, consists of many programmers, computer specialists , adequate and appropriate hardware support and every thing is ready to work. In open source community sometimes we see other great engines and masterpieces, but here we don’t see a big team with so much facilities. We only see an author, sometimes very few contributors and very limited hardware support. But the result of their work is amazing. Some of these engines are not less than stockfish, when we consider the quality of games. These kind of works have their special
Meaning for me. I respect and appreciate all these authors very much.

Which are not bad indeed, and offer a lot of futures too!
