B g4 Black has to exchange the bishop to the knight if White plays 6. h3 or Black is much worst. This article finishes analysys why Black loses if Black retreats 6... B h5:

We are talking about the following Caro-Kann defense variation: 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. ed cd 4. N f3 Nf6 5. B f4 B g4. I call this variation Strict Cardinal.
