Hi Sedat
Thank you very much for tests. New strong engines ( Raptora and killifish ) also arrived. I expected so much from obsidian 12.29. I found it very strong .Let’s see what happens in continue.
Best regards
Dear Homayoun,
Not at all...
Yes I wonder too about what will RapTora + Killfish's performance..
Because both engines (sure previous vers) managed to be Champs...
But you know, latest CS is one of hardest..so no any idea what will
Be next results...but I think that it is worth to give a try...
In any case, FUN comes as 1st..rest does not matter much, right ?)
About Obsidian 12.29 engine,
Frankly the latest Obsidian is doing good (under these cond.)
As we see, about 40 Elo behind than Stockfish plus it's based...
Anyhow..it's very hard to be a competitor vs many SF authors...
That's why..since more than 10 years: SF leads in major ratings!!
And to be honest, I can't remember any better/greater record !
Actually once Stockfish 8 has been defeated (vs AlphaZero) e.g
With clear points difference, but the match cond were not fair...
Greetings )

One thing more dear Homayoun,
I've expected less similarities (to Stockfish) by Obsidian,
Plus by Berserk, Komodo Dragon etc. but nowadays it's
Simply as dream to see more various ideas than SF...!
Sure I refer for engines, which are minus plus 3700 Elo
On the other hand, I admit too,
Mostly are so close (in similarity) to SF... but let's hope also that
Theirs Elo points to be so close as well! that would be great, right?
Btw, here is a new Similarity Report (based on 100 positions)
But played as MP (4 Threads), 2 Sec/Pos. on my Ryzen7 4800H
And only Arasan 24.2.2 is more different than all tested so far,
But this is also true Arasan's strength is not so close to SF too:

Yes. This is the fact that I personally don’t like too. But I can’t understand. For example, Stockfish is an engine with alpha-Beta search , while Obsidian is an engine using nets provided from leela data. And we know that leela is using Mcts search method. I think in different positions they should select different moves and different ways. In this case the similarity should be less than this. I am using obsidian 12.29 in some special lines in openings that I know most engines have difficulties to play and evaluate, for example some lines of Budapest defence or Benoni defence for my personal practice. And I am satisfied form obsidian more than stockfish 16.1 official in these variants. It plays and evaluates these lines better. Obsidian 12.29 shows great positional understanding although it’s weaker than Stockfish 16.1. It is very reliable engine for this purpose. The only defect of this version of Obsidian (12.29) is that engine is not very aggressive but in positional playing it’s fantastic. I would like to know your idea about Titan and Uralochka engines too. (Their strength, similarity tests and may be other parameters you want to mention to. )
Best regards

Thanks as usual for your valuable comments..
Well, and interesting to know what you wrote...
Actually I have no idea about from which nets Obsidian gains...
But if this is true that Obsidian gains from Lc0 data...that means
Also that all of these triple brains are as brothers and sisters...
E.g some time ago (about 2 years ago) I've read that
SF is started to gain from Lc0's played data too...
And now you can imagine and ask yourself,
Which of the Top ones are as original work ?)
Personally in my eyes: there is no such thing...
In other words, it's like a cocktail work...)
But I admit too,
Some of them are based on more own and stronger ideas..
Especially SF and Lc0, otherwise:
No one can be on Top by the work of others, right !?)
Greetings

Breaking News (15.06.2024):
Current CS is already over, thanks and my congratulations to all book players!
Via final update: many books entered, where almost all of them are not weak..
Exc. I can't say as same words for LCX11-4P book but frankly no BIG problem
Otherwise, if all...will be in same quality/strength then will be hard to determine
Which ones are as best, strongest, right?) Btw, actually if we check more closely
We'll notice also that Top standings are not changed so much and that means
DON, HCAN, Unicornio, Adrian Oliva, ORIONPAX etc ones are super strong,
Born to Win for sure!
Private Book Champion:
DON 190524 - Congratulations to Vasid Chouhan!
Public Book Champion
Adrian Oliva - Congratulations to Angel Morano too!
For FINAL Standings:

Breaking News (15.06.2024):
Another new update.. this time only 2 entries and unfortunately no success..
But the good news is that, I've already started Super League tour...sure with
Small number of participants, with only 3, but sometimes not all in my hands!
Be aware too latest Killfish 150624 plus RapTora 3.0 are next new entries..so
After these tests...the current CS Leagues are going to be ended..as reason,
The used conditions + rules do not suit much to the latest Top chess engines,
Not sure exactly..but my 6th sense says that Balsa openings play as BIG role!
I assume that via Unique openings: we'd expect many more qualified players...
In other words, it seems that Balsa openings are too strong...that means also
No much Elo progress with strong opening lines...where Unique suite contains
More weaker and critical lines, sure it's strong but not so much as Balsa suite!
And please stay tuned soon as possible, I'll share Super League's Results too
The Current Leader:
SF-POLY - Congratulations to Tanick Ramz, SF team!
For Latest Standings of NNUE CS LI - 2nd League:

For private19sf you currently have Private19sf_002b, the other stronger variant is the publicly released one, when i gave you that one, Tom and Alex were working on some crazy parameters. at that moment when i gave you, your variant was stronger and better than its father. but later on new stronger parameters were tuned

.
buts its ok Friend. lets give others a chance
Code: Select all
2m+0.20s
Score of Private19Sf_002b vs Private19Sf_sse41: 14 - 17 - 219 [0.494]
... Private19Sf_002b playing White: 8 - 6 - 111 [0.508] 125
... Private19Sf_002b playing Black: 6 - 11 - 108 [0.480] 125
... White vs Black: 19 - 12 - 219 [0.514] 250
Elo difference: -4.2 +/- 15.1, LOS: 29.5 %, DrawRatio: 87.6 %
250 of 250 games finished.
looking forward to a big competition from
Killfish
Stay well

Not at all Tanick
Really? I was not aware of that...I thought simply that
My tested Private19Sf is same vers, which you shared..
And checking your published results..it seems strong...
Anyhow, just in case of newer tour/s
I hope to use the latest Private19Sf vers.
About the latest Killfish ver
We will see...very soon,
All this mystery will be cleared )
But bear in mind too,
You have a very serious opponent for sure
